In response, SOS has teamed up with the local community and another Canadian not-for-profit organization to make learning resources available through innovative technologies, enabling e-learning even in regions without internet access.
Itinerary Highlights:
Participants will support the launch and implementation of this program through the following activities:
- Organizing workshops with local youth, teachers, and policy makers to exchange cross-cultural perspectives on education, digital literacy, and human rights
- Creating educational resources based on key curriculum topics
- Serving as classroom assistant to support the delivery of curriculum, and offering training on the use of technology
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative research to inform ongoing program evaluations
This program is ideal for any one interested in the use of technology within teaching, social development, and not-for-profit management.
Community Profile:
San Pablo is a small village in Corozal District, southwest of Corozal Town, Belize. People in this rural community have not had equal support and funding for educational resources compared to other regions in the country creating significant development challenge for the local people. This trip aims at addressing these disparities in this community by offering opportunities to improve education in this community and improve the lives of future generations.
